Library Prize for Undergraduate Research

The Library Prize for Undergraduate Research recognizes and honors excellence in undergraduate research at UCLA. If you are a current UCLA undergraduate student and can answer "yes" to the questions below, your project may be just what the selection committee is looking for!

  • Did you use the UCLA Library collections for a research project or paper you completed for a course?
  • Were there library resources that you came to know well and to appreciate because of your research?
  • Did your skills as a researcher grow because of your use of library collections?
  • Did pursuing your research using library collections and services help you to increase the scope, depth, and significance of what you learned?

Application Deadline

The application deadline for the 2012 prize is Wednesday, March 28.

Prize Categories and Amounts

The following four cash prizes will be awarded:

  • Best in the Lower Division - $650
  • Best in the Upper Division - $650
  • Best Research using Library Special Collections - $350
  • Best Research using Library resources related to Los Angeles - $350

Award Ceremony

The award ceremony will be held on Wednesday, May 9, at 3 p.m. in the Powell Library Building. RSVP to Library Development at rsvp@library.ucla.edu or call 310.206.8526 by Wednesday, May 2.
